Forest Temple

Hunting for Small Keys
Being the first dungeon as an adult, it is also the first in which you must collect small keys. You must also find a "Boss Key" which allows you to enter the boss arena. When you enter the temple, two Wolfos attack you. Defeat them the same way you did seven years ago. After they're dead, climb the vines to your left. Grab the Gold Skulltula with your Hookshot and carefully walk across the tree. When you get to the other side, grab the small key from the chest. Jump down and enter the structure. A large Skulltula guards the hallway. Take it out with your Hookshot. Enter the door at the other end of the hallway. You'll find yourself in a large area, the flames of each of the torches turn into ghosts. The elevator lowers and the ghosts disappear. The ghosts make up the Sub-Boss in this dungeon. You must defeat all four ghosts to light the torches and raise the elevator. Head for the door directly across the room at the top of the stairs. Before entering the door, grab the Gold Skulltula to your right. On the other side of the door, you'll battle a Blue Bubble. Lock onto it and extinguish his flame by blocking with your shield. When the flame dissipates, hit it twice with your sword. In the next room, you'll battle two giant skeletons called Stalfos! Lock on to one and hit it when its guard is down. Block their attacks with your shield. You cannot block its jump attack so sidestep out of the way if you can! Repeat the process for the second one. If you don't kill the second one quickly, the other will regenerate! After defeating them both, a small chest holding another small key appears. Head back out and go down the stairs, turn right and play the song of time while standing in front of the time block. Head out through the door revealed and you'll be in the northwest courtyard. A giant Deku Baba is right in front of you and an octorok is in the water to your left. Ignore both of them and run to the vine-covered wall to your far right. Kill the two nearest Skullwalltulas with your Hookshot and begin your ascent up the wall. Since you can't reach the other Skullwalltula, you'll have to pass it on the right when it is facing away from you. Enter the door just above the Skullwalltula. Defeat the Blue Bubble here and the chest with the map will appear. When the doors open again, leave through the one marked by the Forest Temple Seal. From the balcony, use your Hookshot to pull yourself over to the other ledge. Target the Hookshot target and fire it. Step on the switch and the water in the well will lower. Jump down and go into the well. Pick up the recovery hearts if you need them and get the third small key from the chest at the other end. Head back to the main room of the temple. You don't have the bow and arrow yet so you can't enter the room to the east so you must now climb the stairs and go in the room to the west. Kill the big Skulltula with your Hookshot and enter the door at the other end of this hallway. Defeat another Blue Bubble here, and climb the ladders. Navi tells you there are arrows on the floor. Find the giant block and with a combination of pushing and pulling, get it into the groove at the end of the arrows. Climb up and pull the second block out as much as you can. Get around to the other side and push it right up to the wall. Go back to the other side by climbing down the ladder and climbing up the first block. Push the second block into the groove. Climb up and defeat two more Blue Bubbles.

The Fairy Bow
Go through the door here and you'll be in a twisted hallway. In the room beyond, Navi warns you about the "shadows of creatures living on the ceiling". Navi is referring to the Wallmaster. This classic Zelda enemy brings Link all the way back to the beginning of the dungeon if it catches you. Keep moving in this room. Immediately jump to the block in front of you and then to the doorway to your right! Head down the staircase and into the room. One Stalfos pops up in front of you! Defeat it and watch out you don't fall down the hole in the middle of the room. After it dies, two more pop up! Defeat them and a large chest will appear. Open it to find the Fairy Bow! Equip it and it becomes the adult version of your Slingshot.

The "Little Women" Poes
Leave the room and as you are going up the stairs, you'll notice some paintings of ghosts. When you look at them, the ghosts disappear. You must shoot an arrow into each picture while the ghost is there. When you hit each one, the ghost appears and goes downstairs. Head back down and meet Joelle, the first of the four "Little Women" Poes. You must hit her when she is fully visible. Lock on and stand back, this will prevent her from attacking. If she attacks, block with your shield. After you defeat her, the torch is lit. You will receive another small key here. Head back through the room where you got the Bow and enter the other door there. Repeat the process for Beth, the second ghost. You are awarded the compass for defeating her. Don't use your last key to unlock the door at the top of the stairs here yet. Go back to the Twisted Hallway and in the room just before it, where you fought the Blue Bubbles, shoot the eye above the door with an arrow. This straightens the hallway and also changes the Wallmaster room around. Go back in and jump to the floor in the Wallmaster room. Stand in one spot till the shadow beneath your feet begins to grow and a moaning sound fills the air. Run! The Wallmaster should drop down to the floor. Kill it before it goes back to the ceiling and you'll never see it again! Grab the Boss Key from the chest and drop down the hole in the floor. Defeat the big Deku Baba and head into the room to your right. Don't fall off the edge! In this room, you will have to kill a Floormaster. When it turns green, block with your shield. Then slice it with your sword and it will turn into three small hands. Kill each one but don't let them choke you or it they will grow large again! Once you defeat it, grab the small key and leave the room. Now go in the other door to find yourself back in a room you were already in. Climb back up to the room where you found the two Blue Bubbles and shoot another arrow into the eye to retwist the hallway. Go through and go all the way to the door which you left locked earlier. Unlock the door and quickly jump to the door to your right. There is a Wallmaster in here! The hallway you're in now is straight but it resembles the twisted hallway so it can probably be twisted too. Two Green Bubbles are circling in the middle of the room. The green mist will disappear for a couple seconds, allowing you to kill them. Enter the room at the other end of this hallway and jump onto one of the moving platforms. You must hit the eye switch with an arrow to twist the hallway but a regular arrow will not work because the switch is covered in ice. Line yourself up so that you will be facing the switch. Shoot an arrow through the flame and it will melt the ice and trigger the switch. You can also stand below the eye and use Din's Fire here. Go back through the hallway and jump into the hole on the floor of the Wallmaster room. You find yourself on a "checkerboard" floor. When you begin walking forward, Navi warns you that the ceiling is falling. Big Skulltulas guard the best open spaces. The switch to your right causes a chest of arrows to fall, grab them if you need a refill. When the ceiling begins going up, get to a spot where a big Skulltula is and kill it quickly. Stand in the spot where it was and make your way to the door at the other end of this room. In this next room, you will see some blocks on the ceiling and a picture of a ghost. Shoot an arrow into the picture and the blocks will fall. Put them all together properly before the times runs out. If you out of time, the blocks rotate and ten seconds are added to the time you have to put them all together. When you solve this puzzle, Amy, the third ghost comes out of the picture. Defeat her and you may get some arrows. Leave through the door and you'll be back in the main hall. In the center of the room, Meg, the final ghost, waits for you. Jump down and go over to her. She multiplies into four and all four ghosts circle around you. Only one, is the real one. Lock on and shoot an arrow into one. If it disappears without making any noise, it's fake. You have three tries to hit the real one and then you must try to avoid being hit. After hitting the one five times, the torches are all lit and the elevator raises. Stock up on arrows before getting on the elevator. Break the pots by the staircase to the west to find some arrows and maybe a heart and some magic. Go down to the basement now.

The Basement
Iron bars block every path here. Grab hold of a wall and push it in a counter-clockwise direction. It will move into the next position. Step on the switch in a niche and push the wall again in the same direction. Hit another switch and keep doing this until you get the boss key and hit all switches. You will find a Gold Skulltula in one room too. After the fourth push, walk through the short hallway and open the large door with the boss key. Go up the stairs and into the middle of the room. Try to go back down the stairs and you are locked in!

Evil Spirit from Beyond:Phantom Ganon
Ganondorf appears on his black stallion but takes off a mask to reveal that he is just a phantom. He rides off into a painting. To defeat Phantom Ganon, you must first get him off the horse by hitting him with three arrows. He will come out of two paintings but only one is the right one to hit. Stand in the middle of this room and use the first person view of your bow. Circle around the room until you see him coming. If he turns into a blinding light as he comes out, hit him with an arrow! If you miss or hit the wrong one, you will be hit with a ball of energy. After three hits, he loses his horse and floats through the air. While locked on, reflect the balls of energy back at him. When one hits him, he falls to the ground allowing you to slice him. Hit him as much as possible here...remember, the jump attack does twice as much damage! Press "A" while locked on to do it. By about the fourth attack, he introduces a new attack. If he begins to charge his staff, run! He will ride it like a broom and tries to hit you. Keep reflecting his energy at him and slicing him with your sword until he dies. When he is dead, the real Ganondorf tells you that you he will not be so easy to defeat. Grab the Heart Container and walk into the light. Saria, your best friend, has now been awakened as a sage. She will give you the Forest Medallion. You are transported back to the Deku Tree and you are fall back after being frightened by the Deku Sprout. The Deku Sprout tells you about your past and tells you that you must save the Land of Hyrule. Good Luck!
