Fire Temple

Fire, Fire, and more Fire
As soon as you enter the Fire Temple, you should see two Fire Keese flying around. Run up the stairs and go in the room to your left. You see Darunia preparing to go into the boss arena. He will ask you to save his people and tell you that you turned out to be a real man just as he thought. When you gain control of Link again, jump to the platform on your left and then to your right. Step on the switch to open the gate. Talk to the Goron to official free him. When he leaves, get the small key from the chest. In every cell of every Goron, Don't forget to get the small key!!! There are nine Gorons total, this leaves you with eight more to save. Head back out of this room and run straight to the other door. Unlock it and enter a large room filled with lava and Fire Keese. Platforms are scattered across the lava, allowing you to travel over it without being burnt. While wearing the Goron Tunic, you can run through the lava for a few seconds before losing any life. A bridge runs through the center of this room. Go to your right until you find a platform with a false wall. Bomb it to reveal a door. Enter it and you'll find the second Goron. Talk to him and grab the small key. Now head over to the other side of the room and enter the door there. Talk to the third Goron there and grab the small key. Leave the room and stand near the edge of the platform which you are on. Play the Song of Time to move the time block down. Climb onto it and go into the door above. You won't find a Goron here but a Gold Skulltula is just as good! First, block with your shield because a bunch of the floor tiles will fly at you. When they are all gone, you will see a new enemy at the other end of the room. This is called a Like-Like a.k.a. the Shield Eater. It will try to swallow you if you get to close. If this happens, it will take your shield and Goron Tunic! Kill it with arrows from a distance. Grab the Gold Skulltula and leave the room. Find out which end you came into this large room from, and leave through the door at the other end. In the next room, a narrow board makes a bridge over the lava. A fence is in the middle of the room. Either Hookshot onto the fence or walk across the board and climb the fence. Climb to the flat part of the fence on your right as you enter this room, and kill the two keese there. Drop down and push the large block onto the rising and lowering flame. Jump onto the block and it will bring you to the second floor. Make sure you get off the block before it goes down again! Exit through the door.

Two Crystal Switches and Hookshot
A Goron sits in a cell directly ahead of you. Unfortunately, you cannot save him yet. Climb onto the ledge and kill the Torch Slug. Climb up and kill the next one too. Jump over to the other side near the crystal switch. Push the block down and pull it to the end of its groove. Get up onto the block and jump to the ledge on your right. Climb the fence and walk to the edge of this platform until you can see the crystal switch. Hit it with either an arrow or with your Hookshot. The switch lowers the flames around the fence behind you. Quickly climb the fence before the flames rise again! Enter the door on the small platform to your right.

The Boulder Maze
You will find yourself in a maze with large boulders rolling around. If you get hit by a boulder, it will change direction because of the force of impact. Head to a small niche to the north, the wall is false here so bomb it reveal a Gold Skulltula. Go left to find another niche. Enter the door to find Goron number four. Talk to him and grab the small key from the chest. Make your way to the south end of the maze where you'll find two more Gorons. Goron number 5 is in a cell almost opposite of where you found the Gold Skulltula. Step on the switch and talk to the Goron. Don't forget to get the small key! Because the sixth Goron is in a cell on the next level of the maze, you must find a way up. Make your way to the west side of the room and unlock a door there. Enter the door and you'll be in a small room with a very narrow walkway through the center, three recovery hearts to the left, and a door to your right. Shoot the eye above you with an arrow to open the door to your right. Enter it and get the map from a chest. Leave and go in the other door. An "L-Shaped" ledge is ahead of you and fences lie flat throughout the rest of this room. Walk to the edge of the "L" and jump onto the fence. Link turns to see a wall of fire coming towards him. Make your way over to the other side of the room. And enter the door on a platform to your right. You will find yourself on top of the boulder maze. Come back when you have the Scarecrows Song and the Longshot. Straight ahead of you is a torch slug. Jump over to it and kill it. The floor is false here so bomb it. Drop down and you'll come to another Goron, actually, it's the one you could not save before. Talk to him and get the key from the chest. Climb back up the fence and you should see a switch in the distance. Make your way over to it and when activated, it opens the gate to another Goron's cell. Carefully, make your way over to the Goron and talk to him. Grab the key and head back to the door where you entered from. Back in the fence room, jump to the ledge on the other side of the room and enter the door there.

The Search for the Megaton Hammer
Walk through the hallway until you and exit through the door into a maze of fire. The column ahead of you is the one you must knock to the first floor. Unfortunately, you do not have anything powerful enough to knock it down yet. Head to the north side of the room and you'll find a door that wobbles when you try to open it. Run before it falls on you! Bomb it. This room is similar to the boulder maze room. Make your way to the north wall and you'll find the compass! On the south side of this room, make your way through the maze to a door on the far side of the center tower. Inside, you'll find a Goron with no way to release him. Leave through the opposite door. Make your way to a floor switch and hit it. This lowers the wall of flame ahead for a few seconds. Quickly make your way over there before the flames rise again. The door here is false so bomb it to reveal a real door behind it. Before entering the door, stock up on bombs by breaking the pots around you. When you enter the room, a Flare Dancer appears. Arrows will not hurt it so you must use bombs on it. When it begins spinning, lock on and throw a bomb at it. It should turn into a small ball and begin running around the room. Lock on and slash it with your sword. If the Flare Dancer begin running around the room, hide in a corner! Repeat this process till it dies. Hop onto the middle platform after he dies and you will be brought up to the next floor. The puzzle here is similar to another you did earlier. Climb the fence, hit the switch and climb up the other fence before the flames rise again. You can also drop a bomb down beside the switch...this will give you more time! In the next room, walk left and climb to the top of the ledge where a switch sits. Hit the switch and carefully make your way up the narrow ledge to the large chest. Inside the chest, you will find the Megaton Hammer! Head back to the small platform you saw when you entered the room. Stand on it and pound it with the hammer. Now use the hammer to knock away the statue. Go through the door and pound the small stake. Grab one of the crates and step on the switch at the bottom of the stairs. Drop the box on the switch and go through the door. Stand on the block and pound it with the hammer. Climb up onto the ledge and pound the rusty switch, go in the door, play the Song of Time, and jump across. Pound the switch and free the Goron, talk to him and grab the small key. Climb back up on the ledge and jump onto the column. Pound it and you will be brought down to the first floor.

The Boss Key
Leave the room and go down the stairs. On the right, pound the statue and enter the door. Kill all the Torch Slugs and Fire Keese to open the next door. This next room is identical to the other Like-Like room. Block the tiles, kill the Like-Like and grab the Gold Skulltula. Leave through the other door in this room. In this room, you will battle another Flare Dancer. Instead of using bombs, use the hammer this time! A chest of bombs appears after defeating him. Leave through the now open door in this room. Finally, the Boss Key. Step on the switch to open the gate and grab that Boss Key out of the chest. You've done your duty to Darunia and Goron City by rescuing all nine imprisoned Gorons. Now you can go help out in the Boss Arena.

Subterranean Lava Dragon : Volvagia
Jump over to the middle platform and Volvagia will come out of one of the lava pits. The easy way to defeat this dragon is to hang off the edge of the platform when he attacks. Volvagia has two attacks. One which he breathes fire at you and the other, he causes boulders to fall everywhere. When he lies his head down, hit him with the hammer. He will wave it through the air and lay it down once more - hit it again. He will perform one of the two attacks so hang off the edge of the platform, but don't fall. When he goes back into the hole, get back up and get ready to hit him again. Repeat this process until he dies. Grab the Heart Container and walk into the blue light. As you transport to the Temple of Light, and your meeting with the Sage of the Fire Temple, the ominous cloud around Death Mountain is sucked away and all becomes peaceful again. You will learn that Darunia is the Sage of Fire and he will present you with the Fire Medallion. Now you must search for the Water Medallion.
