The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. What a great game,
huh? Nearly perfect, right? Well, that is why we won’t see another
Zelda game for a long time. I’m sorry to announce this to everyone
but it looks like it may be years before we see a new Zelda game.
This is because the sales are still doing well and Nintendo has other
games they would like to work on. Possibly even as long as the wait
between A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time.
Now, I’ll bet you’re wondering what “N200X” is. The N200X is the new
video game console that Nintendo is working on. Japan is calling it
the “magic box”. It is rumored to have 128 MB, running at 400MHz. It will also use a custom DVD ROM as the media format. Each
DVD will be able to hold up to 1.5 Gigabytes of space! The controller will
be similar to N64’s but will have a stronger analog stick. It is
also rumored that the controller will have a built-in port for a
GameBoy connection. What does this system have to do with Zelda you
ask? The next Zelda game we see might not be on the 64DD like I
originally said. It will probably be for the N200X. The same goes
for Mario and Metroid. This system is rumored to come out in 2001.
It will be a long wait, but probably worth it! My major source
for this was HYRULE:TLOZ
Hello, first off I’d like to say that this is my first time writing for this site. I am thrilled to be part of this site. Now on with the info! Many of you have probably been wondering about the “64DD” or the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive. Many of you are wondering “does it really exist?” or “will it ever come out?”. Well, it does exist, however it is not for sale in the U.S. or Japan. Now braise yourself, here comes all of that crazy information. The 64DD will be the first writable disk drive for a modern video game system. (We all remember the crappy Sega CD) The 64DD uses a 64 megabyte writable magnetic disk media. Basically what that means is that game developers have A LOT of space to store data. The Nintendo 64 disks will be bootable. In other words, you will not need a cartridge to play a game. The disk drive will have a 4 megabyte RDRAM upgrade for the Nintendo 64. This will bring the RAM for the Nintendo 64 up to 8 megabytes, more then any other game system to date! The disk drive will also be incredibly fast. It will be able to read one megabyte of data per second. Sega Saturn and Playstation only read 300 kB per second. Ever wonder what that EXT. expansion under you Nintendo 64 is? Well, that is where the 64DD will hook up. It uses a disk about the size of a 3.5” floppy disk but it is two times as thick. Another great feature about the disk drive is the fact that a locking bay door will close when a disk is not in and will only open when one is inserted. This will keep foreign objects out. Probably the best thing about the 64DD is that after a game is released and add-on can be produced. An add-on, or expansion, is the same game that was released but it has parts of the game that weren’t on the original game. This is rumored to be done to Zelda 64 but don’t hold me to that! There is no set date for the release of the disk drive. It was supposed to be released early this year but because there aren’t enough people in Japan that would buy the disk drive. Also, the sales in America are doing well enough that the disk drive would not be needed so it could be a while before we see it here in the States. We can only hope that it will come out and it will be as good as all the hype. I got most of this information from HERE! If you have any questions e-mail me at Linkmaster99 I have also included a screenshot of the Japanese 64DD box.
64DD Games
The Sacred Realm is a mysticle place. The opening to the Sacred Realm is in the Temple of Time. It is called the Door of Time. Only the one with the three Spiritual Stones and the Ocarina Of Time can open it. But thats not all. You still have to remove the Master Sword from it's pedistal. And only the Hero Of Time can do this.
The Triforce
The Triforce resides in the Sacred Realm. The Triforce is a triangular shaped, gold, powerful relic. It can be used for two thing's: good and evil. If good hold's it than peace will come to Hyrule. But
if the hand's of evil reside on it, than come's terror, and war.
But once Ganondorf got hold of it, it split into three peices. Power,
Wisdom, and Courage. Ganondorf held the Power Triforce, Princess
Zelda held the Wisdom Triforce, and Link got the Triforce of Courage.
Evil Realm
The Evil Realm is a part of the Sacred Realm where evil is sent. Ganon is sent here by the six Sages after his defeat at the hand's of Link. He still hold the Triforce of power so eventualy he will figure out a way to escape. But until the he is trapped with the
other slime that once infested Hyrule.
What is It?
The Triforce is one of the most important items in the Legend of Zelda series. It is made up of 3 Golden Triangles. Each of the 3 parts holds different powers. Those powers are Power, Wisdom, & Courage. Whoever possesses the Triforce can do ANYTHING their little heart desires.
Where is it Located?
In the Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time, the Triforce rested peacefully in the Sacred Realm. It laid there until Link pulled the Master Sword, the evil destroying sword, from the Pedestal of Time. At that time, Ganondorf, the Evil Gerudo thief, was able to get into the Sacred Realm! As soon as Ganondorf laid his hands on the Triforce, it split up and he was only able to keep the Triforce of Power in his hands. The other pieces would go to their rightful holders until the evil is destroyed.
Who Has Each Piece?
As said above, Ganondorf holds the Triforce of Power. With it, he became ultimately evil and took over the entire Land of Hyrule. The one who possesses the Triforce of Courage is Link! He does not even realize that until he meets with Princess Zelda. The final piece, the Triforce of Wisdom is being kept by the Princess of Destiny herself...Zelda! With it, she disguises herself as Shiek. She hides from everybody until Link has rescued all the sages. Link does not realize that Shiek is Zelda in disguise until she meets him at the Temple of Time before the final battle.
How do I get all 3 Pieces?
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has a very intricate storyline. In the beginning, Link will learn that Hyrule was created by 3 Goddesses...Din, Farore, & Nayru. Each of the Goddesses pored their spirit into the land and created a legendary place...The Land of Hyrule! Then, the goddesses collided with one another and formed the Triforce. When Link destroys Ganon in the game's final battle, Zelda summons the 6 sages to use their powers and banish Ganondorf to the Evil Realm. Unfortunately, Ganondorf is trapped in the Evil Realm...but....he still has the Triforce of Power! Zelda keeps her piece for unknown reasons and you keep your piece. Therefore, you cannot get all the pieces.
The Rumours
There are thousands of rumours on the net that say you can get the Triforce. None are true and you don't have to try them all to prove each one wrong. Why not you say? Well, look at the storyline of the game and what certain characters say. When Ganondorf speaks to you one final time, he says something about wreaking havoc on Link's ancestors. How? He still has the Triforce of Power so it is inevitable that he will escape from the Evil Realm. If you were to retrieve the Triforce of Power from Ganondorf, the storyline would be screwed up. This would ruin the story for another Zelda game. It's simple to understand.
Run for your life!
One ofthe most mysterious characters in the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He is usually first seen after beating Lord Jabu-Jabu, the final dungeon as a child. He runs around Hyrule Field during the day and usually rests at night.
Where is he?
Since the fact remains that he is a running man, he is always on the move. He runs in a circle around Lon Lon Ranch. If you look closely, you will see a lighter colored path in the field. The marathon man runs along the path most of the time.
What does he do?
The marathon man has no extreme importance to the game actually. He is involved in the Mask Trading as a child an you can race him as an adult. Once you have to sell the Bunny Hood, the running man is the right person to find. Once you catch up to him, run along side him until it becomes nighttime. He will eventually sit down and rest. Speak to him while wearing the Bunny Hood and he will offer to buy it from you. Make sure you have an empty Giant's Wallet with you because he'll fill it to the hilt!
Racing the Man
This is what everyone wants to know! As an adult, go to Gerudo Valley and jump the bridge using Epona. Inside the tent to your right, the running man rests. If you speak to him, he will offer to race you to the bridge at the entrance to Kokiri Forest. The odds are that you'll race him and he'll beat you by one second. This always happens and no matter what you do...you cannot beat him! I have tried warping to the Lost Woods and you automatically lose so don't bother trying.
Why does he Always Win?
The only question is WHY!?. Why? I don't know. He just magically beats you every time. I believe that he is in the game to add "Replay Value" to it and keep people interested in it. There may be a way to beat him and if there is, I will find out!

The Hyrule Loach is an eel that swims around in the Fishing Pond at Lake Hylia. It weighs 35 pounds and lives on the bottom. In the following paragraphs I will talk about it and give tips on how to catch it. As well as different places to find the elusive Sinking Lure!
I.Finding The Sinking Lure
A.The Sinking Lure
Many reasons why a lot of people have not caught the loach is because they can't find the Sinking Lure. It is a long, yellowish, plastic worm type lure that looks like little bubbles all connected together single file. It is very long and the fish bite it like CRAZY!!!! You will not see the lure until you actually find it so don't go looking for a string of bubbles laying in the water. You will be walking along The spots I tell you and all of a sudden you will stop and across the
bottom of the screen it says, "WOW" "Is That What I Think It Is?" Then you go talk to the man about it and he says that they're illegal and then he says "What the heck, Go ahead and use it anyway" (NOTE: These are not the EXACT words he says but they're very close. I might leave a few lines out). There are MANY places where it can be so don't give up even if you look in all the places I mention.
B.Places where the lure is Found
1. Around the rocks right by the hole in the wall where the creek runs into the pond.
2.Walk straight into the water from the creek and look in that immediate Area.
3.Look around and in both of the sets of lily pads sometimes it is there.
4.In one of the sets of lily pads is a stump. Look on it.
5.Look above, under, and around the logs in the middle of the pond
6. Do the same to any other logs sticking up out of the water.
NOTE: Do not get frustrated because if the lure is in any of these places, you can get within 2 inches of the lure and as long as you don't step on it, you won't get it so be patient this is one of the hardest things to find in The game in my opinion.
II. The Hyrule Loach
A.Spotting the Loach
Before you pay the man to go fishing put on the iron boots and go into the pond. Though you usually catch him at night, it is easier to find him during the day. it is surprisingly easy to see him. The first time I ever went looking for him, I found him. He is easy to spot considering he is very easily scared and a lot of times you just
stumble across him and he swims off within inches of you. Once you
scare him from his spot he will stay out in the middle of the pond
resting on the bottom beneath a jumble of fish swimming around. The real reason a lot of people don't spot him is because you don't know what he looks like. Most expect to see a humongous eel with glinty eyes and sharp teeth swimming around. You could not be further from the truth. You will defenitely know it's him when you get close but it greatly surprised me to see how small a 35lb eel could be. You will always find him right up on the bank, usually in the lily pads. In fact, while looking for the lure one time I scared him out to the middle. But don't get too excited! He's still pretty hard to find and you might not have as much luck as I did finding him.
B. The Appearance of the Loach
The loach is surprisingly small "Looking" but he somehow weighs 35lbs. When you see him he is the same length as the biggest regular fish out there (NOTE: It "Is" an eel, not an eel-like fish). But as far as being fat he is not fat at all. When you get close to him you will see a DARK, brown, slender fish-looking figure on the bottom. When you get even closer, you will see two little black-dot eyes and one fin on his back. You will see a long fin starting just behind the head and ending just before the tip of a rounded-off tail with no tailfin. Sometimes when scared, he will swim at blinding speed right at you to get away.
III.Catching The Loach
This is the hardest part of all. The loach is very stubborn and the other fish will usually be glad to eat the lure before he does. So here are some tips on catching the loach.
A. Don't just reel it in, Use the joystick on the controller to make the lure wiggle. A lot of fishing games are programmed to make the fish be more agressive toward a wiggling lure (And it seemed to work better for me).
B.Cast it right in front of him and wiggle it every now and then to tease him.
C.Cast it behind him and reel it past him to get his attention more.
D. Don't rush it. The loach, if scared, will swim around in circles and Settle down again. Remember, he can't get out of a little pond.
Well, that's it! I hope you enjoyed it, while I was surfing the net I realized that NOBODY had a decent article on the
loach even though just about everybody made mention of it. I hope that this article helped you a lot in catching the loach. Even though you don't get a splendid prize aou are among the elite, and few, that have caught the elusive Hyrule Loach.
