The First Floor
As soon as you enter the cavern, take a bomb flower from one side of the room and place it in front of the bombable wall. You'll be in a room with lava pits all around you. In the center of this room, a Beamos, guards the platform. The door to your far left is locked but venture over there anyways. In the southwest alcove, a scrub offers to sell you a replacement Deku Shield. Fire is hard on your Deku Shield, it burns easily. Use a bomb to blast open the room in the middle. Open the chest that is revealed to obtain the Dungeon Map. Now head over to the other side of the room. Just be careful jumping over the moving platforms. There are two bombable walls here. Use the bomb flowers to blast them open. Eliminate the Beamos with a bomb too! A Gossip Stone lies in the northeast room and a dark tunnel in the southeast corner.

The Rooms to the East
Head through the tunnel slowly. Baby Dodongo's attack you, one good slash with your sword will eliminate them. Watch out because they explode after you defeat them! There are two secret areas here. One is on the right side of the room. Lure a Baby Dodongo to the false wall and kill it. If it is close enough to the wall, it will blow it up! Kill the Gold Skulltula inside the room. The other is a hidden ledge to your left. Come back here as an adult with the Scarecrow's Song and you'll find a Gold Skulltula. In the raised section of this room, there are two statues and a switch. The switch requires something heavy to keep it held down. Push one of the statues onto the switch. Enter the door on the platform. STOP! Look on either side of the room and you will see two bats, take them out with your Slingshot before advancing any further. Enter the door at the north end of this hallway. Now you will face a new enemy called the Lizalfos. Make sure you have your Hylian Shield equipped! These bouncing lizards are not easy to defeat. Lock on to one of them and it will come and attack you. Hit him with your sword and then use your shield immediately after striking him. After 2 or 3 hits, they will switch so lock onto the other. Repeat this process till both are dead. Go through the other door in this room. There is another secret room here in this hallway. Grab a bomb flower from around the corner and run back and place it at the false wall. A Scrub is selling Deku Sticks for very high prices but you have to buy one if you don't have any! In the room where you took the bomb flower from, you will find three larger Dodongo's. You must set a bomb down in front of them and let them swallow it if you want to kill them. They explode when they die too! You can just avoid them if you like. Take out a Deku Stick and light all three torches in this room to open the exit door.

The Rooms to the West
This room is another puzzle. In the center of the room is a large rectangular block which is surrounded by bomb flowers. Before you solve this puzzle, enter the room on the left side. The compass is in the chest behind the Armos. First you must defeat it. Hit it with your sword and will begin to hop around. Lay a bomb flower underneath it while it is moving to destroy it. Grab the compass and head back out of the room. Take the bomb flower to your right and hop on the raised section of the room. Place the bomb flower in the space between the rest. They will all explode and the stairs will lower. At the top of the stairs, a Gold Skulltula is hiding in the small niche in the wall. Come back with the Boomerang as a child or the Hookshot as an adult to get it. Walk along the edge and enter the door. You'll find yourself in a room with four Armos guarding a switch on a platform. Pull on the one blocking the ladder. Avoid touching the others or they'll attack! Climb the ladder and press the switch. Exit through the newly opened door. Quickly cross the bridge avoiding the flaming bats that attack! If you are hit by one and your Deku Shield is equipped, it will burn up. Use your Slingshot to take them out if you like. On the other side of the bridge, enter the room. Razor traps are gliding across the floor in here so you have to be careful! Use the "Z" Button to change your view and jump across as the blades are moving away. On the other side of the room, pull the block out to find a recovery heart. Climb the ladder and jump to the platform with the bomb flower behind you. Watch your timing so that you can throw the bomb flower over to the false wall at the top of the ladder and gain access to the door. Enter the door and you'll see a platform in the middle of the room. You must use it as a bridge to reach the other side but first, extinguish the flames. Use your Slingshot to hit the eye switch above the door. Quickly jump across. In the next room, you'll battle two more Lizalfos. Defeat them the same way you did the others. Enter the next room and shoot the eye switch above the door here. This lowers the first flame. Jump onto that platform and shoot the eye switch to your left, hidden in a niche. Quickly jump to the other side of the room. Enter back into the Razor Trap room. You'll find yourself on the other side now. Grab the Bomb Bag from the chest on the small platform to your right. Continue on now and you'll come to a switch and a sign. Step on the switch to make a platform move from floor one to floor two. Walk on the bridge to your right. There are two gaps in it. Walk as close to the first one, without falling, and drop a bomb from your bomb bag, into the dead Dodongo's eye. Jump to the next gap and repeat. If you need a Deku Shield, bomb the false wall at the other side of the bridge. Jump down to the first floor.

The Rooms to the North
Enter the dead Dodongo's mouth and open the door. You're almost finished now! Two more Fire Bats lie in the next room. Take them out with your Slingshot. The switch in the hole in the center of this room will raise the bars over the door to the west. The only problem is that it must be held down. Climb the ledge to your right and kill the two Fire Bats in the next room. Walk through to the other side of the room and bomb the false wall. Defeat the Armos here and you'll find another Gold Skulltula! Head back out and kill the Fire Bats again. Climb the block up to the narrow ledge and walk carefully to the other side. Walk through the tunnel and push the crescent block down in to the room. Kill the Fire Bats and push and pull the block till it drops into the hole and holds down the switch. Go through the door that opens and you'll find yourself in a room with no visible exit. Close inspection revels that you must place a bomb the false area of the floor in the middle of the room. Drop into the hole and get ready to battle King Dodongo!

Infernal Dinosaur:King Dodongo
This guy is easy to defeat. He has two attacks. One, he breathes a very long, heat-seeking flame at you. Run for your life! The other attack, he curls up in a ball and rolls around the room. Just use your Hylian Shield and you won't be hurt. To defeat this creature, grab a bomb flower and lock on to him. Throw the bomb into his mouth just before he breathes fire. If he swallows it, slash him with your sword. Each time you hit him, he'll roll around the room. Repeat the process to beat him. When you deliver the fourth and final blow, he rolls around the room and into the lava. Grab the Heart Container and walk into the light.
